As featured in Flux Magazine and on their website, the Whole Foods and Organik Clothing Artee event was a huge success.  Helping to promote the 3rd annual “Shop Local” event at the Kahala Mall this event was also a fundraiser to benefit the Art To Go program at the Honolulu Museum of Art.

9th Wave Gallery Artists Kyoko Rust, Patrick Parker and Shannon O'Connell were in attendance as they helped the event sell over 150 Oganik Clothing teeshirts that were hand painted with custom art. Organik is a beach lifestyle brand dedicated to protect the environment with original designs printed on eco-friendly, sustainable and recycled clothing made from organic cotton, bamboo and materials made from recycled plastic bottles. Their signature designs capture vintage nautical, beach, Hawaiiana and wearable statements along with colors inspired by the beach and nature.

9th Wave Gallery Artist Ryan McVay made the cover of the MauiTime Weekly by creating a illustrative painting for their lede story.  Painted in one sitting this fictional portrait took about 4 hours to complete and portrays Terryl Vencl, the Executive Director of the Maui Visitors Bureau, in a Hawaiian beach scene that overlooks the town of Lahaina and the West Maui Mountains.
